I have always thought that Muammar Qaddafi is one of the most interesting world leaders. Not the sanest, friendliest, or most stable, but most interesting. His choice of bodyguards is just another fascinating aspect of his strange and kaleidoscopic personality. This is not news--it's been written about before, but with Libya in the front of the news these days (and now, in the grave), why not take another look and dig up some photos?
In some ways, this cadre of female bodyguards reminds me a little of Kill Bill.
Gaddafi/Khaddafi/Qaddafi's "Amazonian Guard" is a 40-300 member bodyguard (depending on your sources) charged with keeping the strange dictator in one piece. The Guard, is composed entirely of women. Most reports say that to qualify as a member of the guard, the women must be virgins. They are each hand picked by Qaddafi. They've done their job, including laying down their lives when he was attacked in the late 1990's.

well, the proxy war happened on him.
Gaddafi was kKilled due to proxy war by videshi because he opted not to obey videshi plans in his region. Gadaffi became more bBrutally autocratic and thus cared less about obeying the deal with videshi. though, gaddafi was trapped into videshi weapons dependence and lures for all sorts of weapon assortments.India with all sorts of kickback agents and pak-china scare should not get lured and greedy into buying videshi assortments of weapons. Instead, our region should find a better way out of this trap and dependence. Certainly, desh should develop it's own security system. Similar videshi policies are underway in economics, energy, high-tech, etc. to build videshi conclave.
Certainly, hope that our neighbor and us become wiser, they all should not take radical position against one another due terror and economic pressures.
instead, keep the channels open for talk directly and join hands to combat all sorts of illegal setup and tTerror mMenace. Be ready to counter organized tTerrorist interruption and proxy war that will be state and non-state sponsored.
